The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced the expansion of its services during the weekends, with Al-Wajba Health Center set to start receiving patients on weekends as of Friday, April 11, 2025, bringing the number of health centers operating on weekends to 21, up from the previous 20. This decision underscores PHCC’s commitment to enhancing patient care and facilitating timely access to health services.
The health centers operating on weekends, to provide healthcare services, include: Airport, Mesaimeer, West Bay, Al-Sheehaniya, Omar Bin Al-Khattab, Muaither, Al-Wakra, Rawdat Al-Khail, Al-Ruwais, Al-Thumama, Umm Salal, Al-Mashaf, Madinat Khalifa, Al-Sadd, Leabaib, Al-Rayan, Al-Khor, Abu Baker Al-Siddiq, Gharrafat Al-Rayyan health centers, as well as the newly added Al-Wajba health center.
Furthermore, Al-Jamiliya Health Center will continue to provide its services during the weekends on call-in/on-demand basis.
PHCC highlighted that this expansion aims to improve community’s access to health services and to ensure the delivery of effective and timely healthcare, in addition to enhancing the geographical inclusivity by covering services across all its 31 health centers.
It is worth noting that PHCC remains committed to developing its infrastructure and services in line with the State’s directives towards achieving sustainability in the health sector and elevating the quality of life.
